Gather your girlfriends and join us for a fun, relaxed shopping experience designed to help you refresh your wardrobe for the season ahead.

Closet Clean-Out
April 1st-30th 2026
It’s time to refresh your wardrobe and give back in a meaningful way with our annual Closet Clean-Out—one of our most popular events of the year at Lorain’s For Her. Throughout the month of April, we invite you to go through your closet and bring in gently loved pieces you no longer wear. This is the perfect opportunity to clear space for the new season while ensuring your items go on to make a difference in the lives of others within our community.
For every donation of 5 or more quality items, you’ll receive a $15 Lorain’s For Her in-store gift certificate (limit one per week). We are accepting women’s clothing, shoes, and accessories that are clean, in good condition, and ready to wear. From everyday casual pieces to business professional attire, your donations will help support three incredible local organizations: the MSOE Career Closet, Advocates of Ozaukee, and Family Sharing Ozaukee. Each organization serves women at different stages of life—whether preparing for job interviews, rebuilding after hardship, or simply in need of quality clothing.
We are especially looking for versatile, wearable pieces including tops, sweaters, dresses, pants, skirts, outerwear, shoes, handbags, and accessories. Business professional items are always in high demand, but we gladly accept good-quality casual pieces as well. Please note that we are unable to accept socks, underwear, lingerie, workout clothing, or pajamas, and all items should be free of stains, rips, and excessive wear.
Make it part of your spring routine—clean out your closet, bring in your donations during store hours, and enjoy a rewarding shopping experience while giving back. Closet Clean-Out is more than just an event—it’s a chance to support local women, strengthen our community, and step into the new season feeling refreshed, inspired, and connected.
Our Story
Lorain’s For Her has been a fashion destination for women in the community for more than 65 years. Our story starts with MaryAnn Johnson, the boutique was built on a love for style, quality, and customer connection. Over four decades, MaryAnn created a trusted space where women could discover looks that made them feel confident and stylish.
Her daughter, Kay Newell, proudly carried on that vision and continues to lead Lorain’s today as the owner. Under Kay’s leadership, Lorain’s has remained true to its roots—offering classic looks with a touch of edge—while embracing the ever-changing world of fashion. The boutique has built a reputation for curating high-quality pieces, often made in the U.S.A. and Canada, that customers can wear season after season.
Today, Lorain’s is evolving once again with the addition of fourth-generation family member Megan Coyne, who brings a fresh perspective and passion for connecting with customers both in-store and online. Together with Jodi, Megan has joined Kay as part of the buying team, helping to elevate the store’s look and bring in exciting new brands that speak to today’s fashion-forward women.
Beyond clothing, Lorain’s For Her is about creating an experience. Located in East Towne Square Mall, we’re part of a vibrant collection of locally owned businesses—restaurants, salons, boutiques, and more—that make shopping and gathering with friends both easy and fun.
While fashion trends will always change, our mission remains the same: to serve women with style, quality, and a sense of community that has carried us through four generations and will continue for many more.
We don’t just talk the talk, we truly walk the walk when we join the Shop Small – Shop Local movement.
